FOCUSED CIP ACTIVITY: More impactful, less time spent. Contribute back to society, in this case Chai Chee Estate.
INVOLVE STUDENT LEADERS: To inculcate values of care and concern as a citizen and demonstrate teachers' involvement in the CIP.
GUIDELINES ON DRESS DOWN DAY: Good to have guidelines for consistency. Dress down should stand down if there is a major school event where other stackholders are involved or when Examination is taking place.
Dress down should be continued but ensure that it follows a decent attire and not sloppy. The way we present ourselves to students is important. As teachers we must be professional, and therefore the way we present ourselves must have a sense of professionalism.
Group 5 says: Some departments are using PD time to do departmental meetings. This shouldn't be the case. Teachers who embark on LTs should have lesser workload. We need to consider the time factor especially if it is to be done across department. There is a need for allocated time for LTs to meet. Planning and allocation of duties need to be done as a group in order to distribute the work load. There is a need for ROs to be involved. We can have allocated PD time for EAS only if they are open to the ideas.
A few of us tried to use the fan instead of air-con. However, it will be good to provide extension as the fan cables are too short. In addition, when there is overnight camps, the power consumption tends to be high as the air-con is switched on continually for days.
Should have signatures in the classrooms to remind students to switch off lights and fans when they leave the rooms.
